A few weeks ago my Niece commissioned me to take a photograph of Liverpool Waterfront for a 30th birthday present for a friend of hers who used to study at Liverpool University. Below are some of the shots I took that day. In case you’re interested it was the third image below that was chosen as the birthday gift, which (even though I do say so myself) looked pretty damn good mounted on white board with a black frame:

The weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January 2017 saw the Chinese New Year of the Rooster being celebrated around the globe. Below are a few shots from the festivities that took place in Liverpool, which has one of the oldest Chinese communities in Europe:

A few shots from last weekend’s River of Light event jointly organised by Wirral Borough Council and Liverpool City Council to celebrate the UK tradition of “Bonfire Night” on the 5th November. Not sure if they will do this again…..it wasn’t overly successful. In my opinion if you’re going to advertise something as the “River of Light” you better make sure you light up the river! So for me the organisers get 10/10 for ambition and effort, but 5/10 for execution:
