Seems appropriate to quote a bit of Shakespeare, after all these two Rose shots were taken at the Elizabethan Manor of Harvington Hall:
Two very different styles of shot, the second having had the contrast boosted and the colour de-saturated to enhance the texture and the moodiness in the sky.
Just wanted to apologise for my tardiness of late in following all your posts. We are in the process of buying a new house and we have been a bit pre-occupied with admin and organising things for the big move in a little over 3 weeks. Hopefully things will calm down a bit in a month or two and then normal service will be resumed…..:0).

A couple of macro shots of a succulent growing in our back-garden. I really like the colours and the slightly abstract nature of these two images:

A couple of hand-held macro images of the buds on the climbing Hydrangea in our back garden bursting with new life:

Continuing the theme from yesterday, here are a couple of shots of Dandelion seeds suspended in the threads of a spider’s web:

I don’t think I’ve posted any Dandelion shots before…..in fact I don’t think I’ve taken any Dandelion shots before! Isn’t it amazing how something so common can also be so intricate, delicate and beautiful:

I’ve posted shots of the Alliums growing in our back garden before (and you can see them here and here) but in a more abstract style. Here is a more traditional macro shot of this beautiful plant:
I really like my new 60mm Macro lens…..:0). The above was hand-held (and yes I know that isn’t great Macro technique…..I was feeling lazy) and this is where the in-body 5-axis IS on the Olympus OMD EM1 really helps.
