Another shot from West Kirby but this time looking towards Hilbre Island (which you can just see silhouetted low on the horizon). To my shame I still haven’t made the walk out to Hilbre at low tide, despite living on the Wirral for about 15 years.

A subject I’ve shot many times before, but always draws me back – the view from West Kirby across the Dee Estuary to the coast of North Wales beyond:

A walk around West Kirby’s Marine Lake:

Haven’t posted anything for about three weeks, we’ve been moving house and the wife has had proper flu, but we are pretty much settled-in now and back to normal. Although there are still things to do, they can all wait for a bit!
Here is a shot I took, just before we moved, of the Marine Lake in West Kirby on the Wirral:

We’ve only been to the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) Reserve at Burton Mere a couple of times, but as it’s pretty local to us (and since we became members the last time we visited a few weeks ago) I think we shall be visiting many more times in the future. Its situated on the Cheshire/Wirral border on the estuary to the River Dee and is a magnet for a surprisingly wide variety of flora and fauna.
The images below have been posted on this site before, but as they are all from the same location I thought it was appropriate to share them again in one gallery.
