A Walk to McLeod’s Stone

The short walk to the pre-historic Macleod’s Stone, across the beach of Tràigh Iar, offers up some beautiful views over the bay to the Isle of Taransay, just off the west coast of the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides.

As you can see our two-year old French Waterdog, Daisy (along with her favourite orange ball) also enjoyed the walk and the swim in the crystal clear blue waters. She’s also making a good effort at blending in with seaweed.

Look Who’s Got A New Macro

When I switched from my Canon DSLR to my Olympus MCSC towards the end of last year, the one lens I’ve really missed was my dedicated macro. That was rectified on Monday when I bought the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f2.8 Macro lens. Below are my first few test shots taken in our back garden:

Daisy

These were all taken at f2.8, just to test the sharpness of the lens wide-open and the “look” of the DoF at that aperture.
