Race for Life 2015

I’m briefly interrupting my ongoing series of posts from our recent trip to Tuscany, to bring you a few shots from Cancer Research UK’s “Race for Life” held in Birkenhead Park this morning. These women-only events are held at various places/times throughout the country and raise a huge amount of money each year for cancer research. I’m very proud to say that my wife Lizzy and her friend Sue (see first picture – Lizzy is on the right) entered the “race” this year and completed the 5k course in a very respectable 33 and 37 minutes respectively………well done ladies:

St Mary’s Tower and Cammell Laird

If you don’t know the Wirral it might seem a little odd to put these two subjects together, but St Mary’s Tower (which shares the same site as the 12th Century Birkenhead Priory) stands next door to Cammell Laird’s shipbuilders. Also the tower itself is dedicated as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the 1939 disaster aboard the Laird’s built submarine Thetis.

The second and third shots were taken from the top of St Mary’s tower pictured in the first image below:

The Wirral Open Art & Photography Exhibition 2015

Thought I would share with you the two photographs of mine that have been accepted into the Wirral Open Exhibition held at the Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead between 10th April and 10th May 2015. Both of these images have been posted before, although I did re-process them in preparation for printing for the exhibition.
