Balmoral Estate

A few shots from around the Balmoral Estate, including the Purchase Cairn (so-called because it commemorates the purchase of the estate by Queen Victoria in 1852), a couple of images looking towards Lochnagar Mountain, a Song Thrush and Crathie Church, where the Royal Family attend service:

Balmoral

Arguably one of the most famous buildings in the UK, Balmoral (and it’s 50,000 acre Estate in the Scottish Highlands) has been the private residence of the British Royal Family ever since it was purchased by Queen Victoria in 1848.

St Cyrus Bay

A misty St Cyrus Bay on the border between Aberdeenshire and Angus. It was still fairly warm and the sunshine and blue sky occasionally made an appearance, but the mist rolling in off the North Sea made for an unusual and eerie couple of hours on the beach:
