Rossio
Rossio (or more formally the Praca Dom Pedro IV) has been Lisbon’s main square for centuries and still forms the heart of the main shopping/commercial area. To be honest it wasn’t my favourite area of Lisbon, and we only visited briefly in the evening as we were looking for somewhere to eat, but the mosaic, wave-like cobbled pavement is particularly photogenic. The second shot below is of the Elevador de Santa Justa, just off Rossio square, a 32m high outdoor lift built-in 1902.
