Rock Hyrax

No I hadn’t heard of them either……..:0). Apparently they are closely related to the Elephant…….go figure! They inhabit large areas of Central/Southern Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula:

Rock Hyrax, Chester Zoo, Cheshire, England

    I suspect most of us haven’t heard of them. They almost look a bit bear-like in their snout.

    Nope, me neither. Hmm elephant eh? I think they took a very sharp detour in their evolution somewhere along the line. Smashing photograph Mark! 🙂
