Castle Fraser
Completed around 1636, Castle Fraser is one of the finest examples of a Scottish baronial tower house:
I was surprised to see an Oystercatcher so far inland (Castle Fraser is miles from the coast) but apparently it’s quite common.

Beautiful post, Mark 🙂
The castle looks great and hard to imagine that it’s around 400 years old…
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Beautiful photos !!!
Thanks
Each and every photo a gem, Mark!
Aaaaah, we’re so much looking forward to our four weeks in Scotland next spring. 🙂
Thanks Dina….you’ll have a great time. We are heading back to Scotland next year too….the Outer Hebrides for two weeks.
We might bump into you then..😊👍🏻

Another very fine set of photographs Mark! Those grapes look good! 🙂
Grapes in Scotland, whatever next 😊
Wonderful images! It all reminds me of the TV show here called “Outlander” based on the book series by Diana Gabaldon. My favorite series ever and I love everything to do with medieval times!
I think we can get Outlander over here too….but I’ve not seen it
It’s so good!
I will have to check it out then 😊
Let me know how you like it! It’s kind of a chick flick thing though although my husband started watching it at the end. It is SO well done!
Nicely shot, Mark. You don’t expect to see Oystercatchers in place like that.
