Imagine how long it took to lay all those cobblestones.
Those narrow laneways remind me of York (and all I can think of is my history studies at school and that servants would empty the chamberpots out the top windows on to the street 🙂 )

Lincoln has a similar feel to York, but it’s not as popular with the tourists so it’s more pleasant to walk around.
