Arley Hall & Gardens

The previous half a dozen posts, depicting various flowers, were all taken on a recent-ish visit to the lovely Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire:

Gorgeous place and images, Mark. I especially like the perspective in Arley Hall 6. Very inviting.

Thanks Jane…..ah yes through the gate and up to the Hall itself. Unfortunately the house is only open to the public a couple of days a week and when we went some lucky bride and groom had hired it for a wedding…..so we weren’t allowed any further 😊

Now that, is one garden I would love to see in reality.
    Thanks for sharing Mark.

Yes they are lovely……the gardens are the main attraction as they are open all year round pretty much, where as the hall is only open one day a week I think. The grounds and gardens aren’t the most extensive (though big enough) but they do pack a lot in and are divided into different areas like outside rooms.

What a lovely old home it brings back memories for me of the gardens and historic homes I visited back in 1995 when I spent a year working in England.

Thanks Lynne…..as you know, the UK is full of old houses like this. Quite a few are now owned by the National Trust or one of the government heritage protection organisations, but this one is still privately owned.
