Show Me The Money

How much did she expect? Is there a set fee?
Hi Bill…..a few rupees that’s all and it’s purely optional. Most people in India I photographed didn’t ask for anything and were more than happy to oblige. I think because she was working at Amber Fort, one of the major tourist attractions in India, she had figured out that some relatively rich western tourists could be milked for a little extra income. A bit cheeky, but no real harm done!
Gorgeous, rich tones in this image Mark! As for payment for the picture, I think this was definitely worth a few rupees!
gorgeous portrait and the colours are stunning!!
Thanks Cyb 😊
Yes, definitely worth the money.
(and secondly, I’m sure a few rupees from tourists would make life easier for her family).
Would she have refused if you had?! I appreciate her acumen but I’m not sure how I feel about paying for portraits; it’s not the money, it’s the principle I guess …. but I would probably do the same if I were in her position!
What a wonderful “moment in time” you have captured. Her expression is priceless.
Thank you…..I’m pleased you took time to like and comment on this shot. Compared to some of my other India posts, this one has been a little under-appreciated I feel.
I’m starting over with my blog, the last one got erased by some program hyjack. Yet I keep marching on…
