Somerford Park Horse Trials 1
The first in a series of shots from the British Eventing Horse Trials held at Somerford Park in August 2013:
No real reason why I haven’t got round to posting these till now……..I guess I just took too many shots last year to get through them all at the time. It is quite useful though, holding some images back to post during the winter months, as new material tends to be a little thin on the ground for me at this time of year. That isn’t to say that I don’t have some new work in the pipeline, but I want to clear some of my 2013 backlog first.

Love that part of the image where the horse’s hooves are kicking up the water & mud. One can’t always capture that exact image of movement.
(take a picture of your Breakfast if you have to Mark – that’s what I did when our weather was too hot to go out – lol).
Thanks Vicky…….I am planning some Still Life shots, but not of my breakfast 😊
a great event to practice all sorts of shots
Thanks…..I’ve done a couple of these now and they are great fun to do. Even without the camera they would be interesting events to attend.
A very photogenic action moment captured in that first shot – great timing!
Thanks Noeline 😊
Hi Mark
I am the rider in the first picture, would I please be able to post this image on Facebook and credit you as the photographer?
Hi Abigail…..that’s absolutely fine and thanks for asking permission. I’m glad you like the shot enough to want to post it on FB, it was one of the first shots I took on that day and it’s one of my favourites too. Could you please put a link back to the post on my site as well? The URL is https://marksimmsphotography.com/2014/01/29/somerford-park-horse-trials-1. Thanks.
