Wheat Field

I took these shots a few weeks ago not too long before the harvest. I pass this field everyday on my way to work and have often thought that it would make a good local subject. We had a very wet late Summer/early Autumn here on the Wirral and as you can see the field was somewhat waterlogged…..so much so in fact that I was actually standing knee-deep in water whilst I was trying to capture these.

The shots were all taken with the camera mounted on a tripod (also standing in the water) using my Canon 15-85mm lens and Kood ND Grad filters. The lens flare present in three of these shots is, I think, a result of using the ND Grads, because the 15-85 is usually pretty good at controlling flare. I did toy with the idea of trying to clone this out in post processing, because most of the time I find flare to be a little distracting, but I actually quite like the effect in these shots.
