Our Cats
It’s probably about time that I introduced you to our three bundles of fur, paws and claws:
Henry
Henry is our 10 year old snow-spotted pedigree Bengal that we’ve had since kitten-hood. He has super-model looks and to be honest a super-model attitude – even down to the temper tantrums…..he knows he’s a pedigree! He’s also a fair weather cat – the chances of Henry venturing outside if it’s cold or raining are about as remote as me winning the lottery. For all that he is the most sociable and loveable of cats – he enjoys being the centre of attention around visitors, but also loves just to snuggle up on the sofa between Liz and I. In fact we fight for his attention when we are on the sofa, because whoever he chooses to snuggle up against is deemed to be “en chat” – the blissful state from which you couldn’t possibly move for fear of disturbing the cat and thereby forcing ones partner to get up and make the tea, pour the wine, fetch the crisps etc…..;0)
Harley
Harley is our 9-year-old moggy from the local RSPCA rescue centre. He’s a burger boy – he will eat anything! He also has the loudest purr we’ve ever heard – like a motorbike engine when idle, which is why we called him Harley, after the Harley-Davidson. He is not actually, as the photo and caption suggests, a “devil cat” – but if any of the three are going to get up to any mischief then it will be Harley.
Poppy
Poppy is our other 9-year-old moggy from the same rescue centre as Harley. She is very shy – she likes a bit of fuss and attention but only on her terms. In the summer she likes nothing better than to lie on top of the water-butt where she has a good view of the garden and can keep an eye on all the comings and goings. Poppy is also the perfect huntress – she is so patient that she’ll sit for hours watching and waiting until her opportunity comes along. If anything was to happen to us, then I have no doubt that Poppy could quite happily fend for herself…..the two boys on the other hand wouldn’t stand a chance!!

I love these portraits and that you describe them with so much love and humor 🙂 LIKES*3!
Thanks Calee, I’m glad you like the post. Even though its my wife who is the cat person really, I have to admit that I wouldn’t be without them…..they are all pretty adorable….:0).
Reblogged this on The Chronicles of Me.
Thanks for the re-blog
Lovely photos of lovely cats! 🙂
Thanks…:0)
Sweet shots, Mark. Love Henry, both the cat and the b&w photo.
Thanks Rona. In the winter months he loves getting under the duvet….so I decided to take some photos. I needed to use my speedlite, but he loves the attention and was more than happy to pose.
[…] those of you who read my previous post on Our Cats, you will know that for the last 10 years we have been “in service” to a pedigree […]
[…] was a bit distracted whilst I was taking these shots because Harley (one of our three cats) had been out all night in the snow and at the time hadn’t come back. […]
