I just thought I would take a little break from posting about Mull & Iona – although I don’t have too many more photos to share from our holiday……honest….;0).
A couple of weeks ago I popped over to Liverpool, it’s our nearest big city and only about 20 minutes away in the car. The purpose was to take some shots for the upcoming 2012 Liverpool Anglican Cathedral Photography Competition. The theme of the competition is to capture “Liverpool Life” in either the city centre or the Hope Street area (the latter being the location of the Cathedral itself).
I decided to go with just my Tamron 70-300mm lens, because I wanted to be able to take some candid shots of people going about their daily lives and therefore needed to be a reasonable distance from the subject so they didn’t spot that I was taking photos of them.
Below are a selection of some of the images I captured on the day:
I’d love to know what you think of these and which, if any, I should possibly enter in the competition – so please “like” and feel free to leave a comment.
If you’re local to Liverpool and fancy entering yourself then details can be found here. The closing date isn’t till the end of August, so there is still plenty of time – in fact I’m hopefully going to pop over again in the next week or two to see if I can grab that killer shot…:0). If I do I’ll obviously share the shots on this site and I’ll also let you know which image(s) I eventually enter.
Incidentally the image on the front of the flyer for the photo competition was taken by a friend and work-colleague of mine – Richard Cooper. Nice one Richard…….not at all jealous…;0).
